Electronics Technician

The Electronics Technician will be an integral member of the manufacturing team in a hands-on, fast-paced environment, supporting the development of new and existing robotic products. The ideal candidate will be able to work closely with engineers in the product development process from initial concept through the development, testing, manufacturing and support phases.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair printed circuit boards
  • Produce and repair complex cable harnesses
  • Perform tasks in a controlled environment under FDA regulation
  • Create and maintain detailed records of inspections, failures and repairs
  • Perform software testing, including installation and upgrade of firmware
  • Troubleshoot customer equipment off-site via email, phone or teleconference
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and software engineers to transition products from engineering to manufacturing
  • Perform extensive design verification testing of analog and digital circuits
  • Independently analyze and interpret test data
  • Adjust, calibrate and modify circuitry and components and record effects on unit performance

Qualifications :

  • 2 or 4 year electronics degree
  • Hands-on experience working with electronics at the component level
  • Strong interest in testing, design, and troubleshooting
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience using Linux, including the terminal

Highly Valued Skills

  • Knowledge of C, C++ or Python programming
  • Comfortable working with electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience working within a quality-controlled environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
