The New England Sports Network (NESN), owned by the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins, is the definitive source for New England sports programming and has consistently been one of the top rated regional sports networks in the country. We are looking for an ENG Photographer to join our Operations team.
We are searching for a skilled ENG Photographer & Editor  for NESN’s Red Sox, Bruins, and news shows productions. In this role you will gather news, live game coverage, feature and documentary style shooting, and news-style editing. A well-rounded sports content production background is necessary with a positive “can-do” attitude. The position will require a flexible schedule, travel to remote locations for games and evening work.

About You

  • Solution-Oriented: You are clever, smart and creative in bringing ideas to solve problems.
  • You have 6-8 years of ENG and EFP photography production work, and editing in a live sports environment
  • You have a demo reel showcasing shooting and editing examples. Please indicate if you have edited the material you have shot on the reel.
  • You have advance knowledge of baseball and hockey at a level that enables you to be a game camera operator.
  • Strong understanding of all aspects involved with live event television production and the ability to prioritize needs quickly and efficiently.
  • You will be responsible for shooting various subjects and subject matter using television broadcasting and video recording cameras and related equipment at remote locations and/or in studio.
  • You will edit to a deadline for news programs including high-lights, and features common in news programs. In addition you will edit material in-house, or in the field with and without producer guidance.
  • Regularly develop and execute new and unique ideas.
  • Make key contributions towards enhancing the creative quality of content during field productions and field produce with a high level of proficiency.
  • Provide expertise in lighting, audio and set-up for shoots. Be a quick thinker on remote location. 
  • Set up, inspect and ensures availability and readiness of equipment. Monitor equipment performance.
  • You have the ability to troubleshoot and correct camera settings and first and second level equipment problems.
  • Demonstrate clear expertise/ in-depth working knowledge of relevant technical concepts, related processes.
  • Identifies and incorporates new and innovative editing techniques.
  • Implements solutions with excellent editorial judgment that requires little to no redirection.
  • Ability to lift up to approximately 75 lbs. of photography gear.
  • Edits video and sound using an editing system. Evaluates and selects scenes for dramatic and entertainment qualities and story continuity.
  • Cuts video segments to specified lengths and reassembles them in sequences that create the desired impact and feel.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with production to assure superior performance in support of this department.
  • Mentors and trains content producer in developing photography skills and knowledge.
  • Work closely with studio and field producers and closely execute their production vision.
  • Ability to work with flexibility including nights, holidays and weekends are necessary
  • Regular Travel required
