Job Description

Industrial Smoke and Mirrors (ISM) is a manufacturer of various training simulators including aircraft, weapons, maritime, and ground vehicle simulators, as well as related hardware components. Most of the simulators we build are for our troops, but we do also perform work for the commercial industry.  We have an impeccable reputation in the industry and are currently in need of Electronics Technicians.  Many of our jobs are prototypes, so there will be constant changes, challenges, and specific requirements on a project-by-project basis.

Duties for Electronics Technicians will include:

  • Assembling standard products by routing, wiring, and installing electrical and electronics components
  • Connecting wiring to accessories such as relays, circuit breakers, plugs, condensers, switches, solenoids
  • Installing main junction and terminal boxes, main control switch panels, and instrument and radio panels
  • Utilizing handheld tools and soldering equipment
  • Reading work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine appropriate assembly methods
  • Visually inspecting parts for proper placement
  • Assembling electro-mechanical assemblies to include cables and wiring harnesses
  • Stuffing, mounting, and soldering components to printed wiring boards in accordance with IPS-A-610C
  • Ensuring components and assemblies are properly handled and marked
  • Reviewing quality of work to ensure the product meets ISM quality standards
  • Identifying product defects and completing appropriate documentation when necessary
  • Prioritizing work flow through effective communication with management
  • Performing all work in accordance with ISM quality standards and safety procedures
  • Other duties as required

 

Candidates must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above job duties.  Experience with flight training devices is a plus. 

 

Position Requirements for Electronics Technicians include: 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong attention to detail
  • IPC-A-610C Certification is preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in soldering and re-working PWB’s in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to communicate well with other departments both verbally and in writing in order to build/test designs and resolve issues in real time
  • Due to the nature of our work, occasional travel (10-20%) may be required and eligible candidates must have the ability to pass background investigations to gain clearance to military bases and also may be required to pass further background investigations for US Security Clearances
  • Lawful US Person as defined in US Code 8 U.S.C. 1342b(a)(3)
