Omni Ecosystems seeks a Project Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. The Project Manager is an integral member of the Omni construction team, and plays a key role in Omni’s mission. Project Manager Description

Omni seeks an experienced construction project manager and detail-oriented individual with a passion for quality workmanship and Omni’s mission. The Project Manager provides comprehensive oversight of Omni’s construction projects, which include growing media, on-grade and on-structure irrigation systems, drainage for on-structure and on-grade ecosystems, plantings, pavers, metal edging, green façade and living wall systems and associated anchoring systems, and more. A successful Project Manager is a self-starter and problem-solver, attentive to details, a clear and proactive communicator, and experienced in construction and construction management. The Project Manager is a central and critical member of Omni Construction team, and will work from the Omni office in Chicago with occasional travel to project sites in Chicago and nationwide.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 or more years progressively-responsible experience in construction project management
  • Excellent prioritizing, time management, and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in software including AutoCAD, time tracking, CRM, Adobe Acrobat, BlueBeam Revu, Google Suite, and Microsoft Suite
  • Enthusiastic commitment to multidisciplinary and team-focused environment
  • Preference given to candidates with OSHA 10-Hour Construction, OSHA 30-Hour Construction, or similar safety certification
  • Positive attitude and good sense of humor

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, carry out and support project management for green roof projects, living wall projects, and other Omni Construction and Omni Products projects
  • Prepare submittals, shop drawings, as-built drawings, MSDS, LEED, SSSPs, warranties, close-out documents, pay applications, change orders, and other project management documents
  • Draft, review, update, and carry out-tasks listed on projects’ fully executed contracts and any change orders
  • Draft, review, and update project management documents and tools
  • Review and understand contract obligations, and communicate contract obligations to Omni project team members
  • Achieve project budget objectives
  • Coordinate with Omni Controller and client financial contact to ensure all accounting documentation is accurate and timely submitted
  • Coordinate with Construction and Operations team, including supervisor, other Project Managers, Superintendents, Warehouse & Yard Manager, and Safety Manager to ensure successful fulfillment of projects, on schedule and budget
  • Oversee Superintendents on projects
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients to ensure successful fulfillment of projects
  • Oversee coordination of project schedule and logistics internally and externally
  • Oversee safe installation of Omni products and quality control for Omni’s projects
  • Create AutoCAD drawings, such as shop drawings, construction details, in-house Omni construction documents, and as-built drawings
  • Adhere to Omni AutoCAD standards
  • Understand technical aspects of basic building components including roofing, plumbing, electrical and structural principles and details related to Omni products and projects, and communicate those with client and design/construction team to ensure proper Omni installation
  • Calculate and design irrigation systems
  • Review and interpret architectural drawings, specification sets, and shop drawings
  • Monitor project progress and conditions by visiting Omni project sites before and during installation
  • Prioritize safety, efficiency, and effectiveness in all decision making
  • Generate project schedule, safety plan, hoisting, and logistics plan
  • Source and issue purchase orders for all materials
  • Manage project complications with calm, measured and professional conduct
  • Source, negotiate, and generate work orders for Omni partner installers and subcontractors nationwide
  • Participate in surveys, assessments, and changes for iterative improvement
  • Complete other tasks as needed to successfully complete projects on time, on budget, and according to Omni’s quality standards
