Job Description

Western Avenue Capital, a real estate focused company, is seeking a Property Management Associate to join its Los Angeles based team.

This role requires someone who has strong interpersonal skills, an ability to communicate effectively, and is personable with vendors, tenants and co-workers. The candidate must have a high level of integrity and dependability and can perform under pressure and with tight deadlines. The Property Management Associate will work closely with firm’s principals on a range of activities across the Company’s retail, NNN and multifamily portfolio. 

The Property Management Associate will: 

  • Proactively inspect properties, supervise repairs, and oversee tenant move in/out.
  • Serve as the primary contact with maintenance / service vendors.
  • Establish regular communication with tenants to investigate and resolve complaints.
  • Manage move-in and move-out flow including checking units, collecting tenant information, sending notices and dealing with deposits based on inspections.
  • Operate Appfolio system to manage the customer data, maintenance requests, contracts and other related issues in the renting process.
  • Upload latest property information to Company system
  • Carry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc.
  • Regular travel to properties, including day trips via airplane.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About you

You will possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills, an interest in the real estate industry, and the ability to acquire new skills and/or product and sector knowledge in a fast-paced work environment. You possess a desire to work at a small firm with high ethical standards.

Additionally, you will ideally have: 

  • Experience in property management or other high intensity customer service role
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Capable of effectively handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing skills
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Familiarity with conducting and managing repairs & construction
  • Proficiency in Appfolio (or property management software) is preferred
  • Undergraduate college coursework degree in Real Estate, Business, or Finance, is preferred
  • Conversational Spanish, Chinese or Korean is a plus

The Company is seeking to fill this role imminently and will progress quickly with potential candidates.
