JOB SUMMARY:  MSI- Integrated Solutions seeks a BAS Systems Specialist. The System Specialist will be responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and programming building automation control systems while providing top tier customer service for all internal and external customers. The System Specialist will utilize their knowledge of HVAC Systems, control devices, basic computer operations, electronics, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, direct digital controls, airflow, hydronic systems, IT networking, and building control techniques.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Read, review and follow project related documents such as blueprints, drawings, project scope, budgets, deadlines, and sequence of operation for proper execution requirements
  • Safely operate company vehicle.
  • Initiate and maintain positive customer relationships with all existing customers and potential new customers.
  • Maintain a standard inventory of parts and tools on vehicle for use in the performance of work.
  • Ability to run building automation service calls as well as participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Maintain service vehicles in good, safe operating condition, attending to normal servicing and reporting to Manager if and when major repairs or reconditioning are deemed necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and repair existing DDC systems.
  • Program and verify operation of new and existing DDC.
  • Integrate multiple systems into a single platform – LONworks, BACnet, MODbus, & proprietary communication protocols.
  • Perform Commissioning and Retro Commissioning on various projects.
  • Create and apply advance controls strategies.
  • Provide technical support to end-users and other employees as needed.
  • Maintain DDC systems – perform repairs & adjustments, database management, analyze system performance, & upgrade systems as needed.
  • Assist project managers and other personnel with job status, schedule, and completion requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • 5 Years of experience with electrical experience (120vac, 24vac, 24vdc and 12vdc) preferably with low voltage control systems, including experience with ladder logic, relay logic, controllers, and field controllable devices.
  • Experience with the following programs or products Automated Logic, Honeywell, Siemens, Johnson Controls or Alerton products, systems & networks is a plus.
  • 2 years of experience as a Controls Service Technician is preferred.
  • 8 years of experience as a Service Technician is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate high mechanical aptitude.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Knowledge of good customer service techniques.
  • Congenial personality and a helpful attitude.
  • Physical activities of standing, balancing, climbing stairs & ladders, walking and lifting of weights of 50 lbs or more are required in daily performance of job.
  • Use of upper extremities required for forward and overhead reaching, pushing and pulling, and material handling.
  • Use of torso and lower extremities required for kneeling, crawling, stooping, twisting, and squatting.
  • Knowledge with LONworks, BACnet, & MODbus system integration.
