Budget Analyst GS-12 - SkillBridge Internship Opportunity
IMPORTANT NOTE: This opportunity is only open to CSP & DoD SkillBridge participants on active-duty who are at least 13 months from separation.
LOCATIONS: Washington, DC; Indianapolis, IN; Minneapolis, MN; Chicago, IL; Tampa, FL; and Atlanta, GA. CBP-APMD locations listed have current APMD employees assigned to them (with the exception of Minneapolis) available to sponsor SkillBridge interns and provide in-person support they may need. APMD operates 80%+ in a virtual environment (via MS Teams), so this is not an on-site work assignment.
SALARY: DoD SkillBridge interns are paid by DoD while they intern as volunteers with CBP. The salary range below reflects the pay scale if hired at the end of the SkillBridge internship. There is no guarantee of employment, however, if CBP hiring managers are able to hire interns at internship conclusion, the salary range is: $74,441-$96,770 (GS-12 Step 1-10); does not include location pay.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: CBP is looking for an enthusiastic candidate who has experience in the financial management realm to support a range of operations within CBP’s Enterprise Services portfolio. If selected, you will be provided with access and training to CBP financial system-of-record (SAP), and other DHS systems, that will allow you to monitor and track financial balances and expenditures across a range of projects and acquisition programs.
You will work under the direct supervision of a seasoned senior budget analyst and be part of a team that includes fellow budget analysts, program analysts, and support contractors. Your duties will include developing and inputting procurement data into various CBP systems, tracking and reporting financial statuses, and analyzing cost data to develop initial program cost projections for our acquisition programs.
You will be exposed to operations of our customers that include Human Resources Management, Facilities and Asset Management, Training and Development, and the Office of Finance. You will need to be skilled in meeting with a range of stakeholders, forging productive relationships, and communicating in a positive manner to reach common goals and objectives.
