The Fab Technician will be responsible for the Fab of optical components and devices in a clean room environment utilizing operating equipment and executing production processes.
Although the location of the position is in Columbia, SC, it may be required to travel to various locations including other Thorlabs entities and customer/vendor locations.
Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:
Read and follow work instructions.
Execute processes utilizing various production technologies including:
Photolithographic patterning of various substrates.
Wet chemical etching.
High vacuum coating and dry etching processes.
Chemical and mechanical cleaning and drying processes.
Mechanical machining and dicing processes for metal, glass, and polymers.
Laser marking and machining processes for metal, glass, and polymers.
Monitor process performance and process outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
